天然石材洞石，是指在熔洞地区，其山石经千百年的水浸或湿润度比较大的环境，水气侵入石中造成长时间侵蚀，从而在石头表面及内里形成孔洞的独特石材。天然洞石具有自然、古朴的装饰效果，一直是高档的建筑装饰材料，但由于取材有限，成本高，售价贵，限制了大量使用。人们一直希望研发形态与装饰效果均接近天然石材，而造价更低的人造石材以替代天然洞石。瓷砖是模仿天然洞石最好的产品。现有的洞石一般是通过模具的设计或造孔剂的方式来仿制洞石。但是对于用模具生产的洞石则因为模具投入大，导致孔洞的方式少；而造孔剂的的方式，由于采用发泡成贯穿洞的机理，则导致良品率低。而本发明则采用占位法的原理，制造出高仿真的洞石。
